Religion

Love.

Growing in love, living in love, connecting to love.

That is the core of it all, love.

God is love and God is real.

We sing. We make music. We dance. We pray. We drum. We nurse each other through tears. We make each other smile. We touch. We hug. We kiss. We gift. We speak kind words. We give. We help.

Every religion is right. Love is at the centre. There are many stories and many ways to frame it, but the core is the same.

We can free ourselves and live in love. We can wake up. We can grow. We can heal. We can mend the broken family bonds. We can learn to live in harmony. We can abound in eden. We can feel and spread joy.

Everyone is right but everyone is wrong too because they confuse the stories and symbols with the reality. They get too fixated on their version of the truth not realising it is the practices of congregating, singing, dancing, praying, chanting, drumming, making music, meditating, that is connecting them deeper to love. You can be a Rastafarian who worships with reggae and certain styles of dance, music and dress. Or you can be a Hare Krsna and use the same phrase in your singing and certain music styles (harmonium). Or you can be an African christian who sings and shouts gospel music. There are so many variants but it all comes down to the same thing.

I think I will dip in and out of whatever I come across. I love a bit of Hare Krsna Khirtan and a bit of Christian gospel and a bit of shamanic drumming and a bit of letting loose at a rave. I am in it for the music and the dance and the prayer.

Help me to love, help me to love.

I have started and will continue to pray.

I am arriving.

Help me to love, help me to love.
